Notes about The Goddess Project Photo Sessions:

  • All Goddess Project shoots are artistic nude and implied nude (see the project gallery to get an idea of the poses and style).
  • Chaperones are always welcome to the Goddess Project shoots.
  • Your photo session is with David Zane who has over 35 years of experience as a professional fashion & fine art photographer, director, and filmmaker.
  • The Goddess Project is a body-positive celebration of the goddess spirit, artistic expression, beauty, strength, diversity, sensuality, & female empowerment.
  • Previous modeling experience is not required.
  • You will be posing in a professional studio environment with backgrounds and multiple studio lights and modifiers.
  • Models should feel comfortable in their skin and posing in an artistic nude style in a professional studio environment.
  • Studio sessions are in David Zane’s fully-equipped home studio in John’s Creek, GA.
  • Most studio sessions are a minimum of 2 hours.
  • Most Goddess Project sessions are TFP and participating models will receive exceptional fully edited high-res black and white & color images from the photo session to add to their portfolio. If you are approved as a model for this project there is no cost to you and you will be able to use the edited photos on all of your websites and social channels.
  • This is a collaborative project. We want to hear your ideas and interpretation of “the goddess spirit”. David will schedule a call with you to discuss your ideas for themes, props, and poses and to answer any questions you might have.

Preparing for your Goddess Project Photo Session:

  • Please make sure you have completed the Goddess Project application so we will be able to reach you and send your finished photos to you.
  • Very important: Please arrive on time for your photo session. If for any reason you are running late please call or text.
  • Feel free to bring a friend or chaperone to your photo session.
  • Practice Posing Ideas in front of a mirror. Please check out our Posing Inspiration page for posing ideas for the Goddess Project. These are similar fine art nude themes we will be exploring in your session. Don’t worry! You won’t have to be able to do all of these poses!
  • To prevent visible lines & impressions on the body it is always a good idea not to wear any tight clothing or underwear for at least a couple of hours before arriving for your session. Skip the bra, skip the socks, skip the watch, and forget that belt, those tight jeans, and anything else which could leave an impression on your skin.
  • Eat lightly before your session to ensure you’re satisfied but not bloated.
  • Please avoid tanning beds or excessive sun exposure for at least 48 hours before your scheduled photo shoot.
  • Avoid fake tans. No sprays, gels, bronzing oils, or lotions.
  • Skin: Shaving or waxing on the day prior to your photo session is recommended.
  • Moisturize: Apply moisturizer or body lotion to your entire body prior to arriving for your shoot.
  • Hydration: Make sure you are drinking lots of water before your shoot. Hydrated skin is glowing & beautiful skin. Also, avoid alcohol and salt prior to your shoot.
  • Makeup for this project is minimal and matte. Natural earth tone colors are best. Eyelash extensions are recommended but not required.
  • If using deodorant use only clear deodorant on the day of your shoot.
  • Hair & Makeup should be done before arriving for your shoot but feel free to bring your makeup kit in case retouches are needed.
  • Finally, plan to have a fun, easy shoot! Bring your goddess energy, confidence, positive affirmations, fearlessness, and badassery! And don’t worry if you don’t know how to pose. David will coach you throughout the session.

“The body always expresses the spirit whose envelope it is. And for him who can see, the nude offers the richest meaning.” ~Auguste Rodin

“Nakedness reveals itself. Nudity is placed on display. The nude is condemned to never being naked. Nudity is a form of dress.” ~John Berger

“Traditionally the Nude was used to express formulations about life as larger-than-life, as Heroic or Ideal… The nude is not a ‘genre’ subject.” ~Isabel Bishop

“The nude does not simply represent the body, but relates it, by analogy, to all structures that have become part of our imaginative experience.” ~Sir Kenneth Clark

“And who is so barbarous as not to understand that the foot of a man is nobler than his shoe, and his skin nobler than that of the sheep with which he is clothed.” ~Michelangelo
